Hello friends and family-
In early 2018 I was told I should "check out" a paratriathlon club in Chicago called Dare2tri. Never would I have imagined how this organization would change my life. My first experience at Dare2tri's paratriathlon camp that June was pivitol in boosting my confidence by bringing focus to how strong my abilities were rather than what my limitations were as an athlete with a disability. For the first time in my life my difference felt completely understood and I was given a way to solve any obstacle I thought I once had.
This year I was chosen to be on the Dare2tri Development Team which has provided me with training and support throughout the year and on site at my higher level competitions. I have found such a strong support system of teamates and coaches that I am so thankful for and I want to help give back so that Dare2tri can continue to help make a difference in the lives of other athletes with physical disabilities like myself.
A bit about Dare2tri from website. "Dare2tri is an Illinois-based 501(c)3 non-for-profit organization with the mission to positively impact the lives of athletes with physical disabilities and visual impairments by developing their skills in paratriathlon. Dare2tri empowers individuals with disabilities and gives them the opportunity to be physically active, engaged with their community, and helps them set and reach goals. Dare2tri changes lives by boosting individuals’ self-esteem, confidence, and self-worth."
"Since 2011, Dare2tri has worked with athletes of all ability levels from beginner to elite by serving youth, adults, and injured service members who have a physical disability such as amputation, spinal cord injury, stroke, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and those with visual impairments and blindness."
